Recruitment in Partnership

Background

A growth focused mid-market investor needed help with one of their portfolio company in the Health Sector. Vocative worked with Endava’s Human Capital and Recruitment Advisory service partnering with both companies to recruit the CTO.

The situation

A new CTO was urgently required to be accountable for the operation and development of the companies’ technology systems and platforms necessary for service delivery and future growth. They would be a member of the Executive Team and play a full role in the leadership and strategy of the business.

Leadership, vision and technical skills were vital, but they also recognised the importance of finding someone with the right personality for the job. The timescale for getting the new CTO on board was critical; the client’s ideal timescale was 3-4 months but knew 6 months may be required.

The approach

Vocative conducted a company culture analysis and shaped up a definition of both the client’s objectives and requirement.

The strategy for search process, timeframes and target organisations was developed and, following candidate assessment, a long list report was produced.

Through the three stage interview process, each candidate was then evaluated and reviewed with the client to produce a short list. Once the successful candidate had been determined the offer process was managed and references taken. The process was cleanly and clearly defined to provide transparency and efficiency in recruiting the best candidate well within the agreed timeframe.

Client comments

“… the CEO was very happy with the whole process, and having interviewed the CTO candidate, and since seen him in action I’ve been impressed. Thanks for the support, I will certainly be in touch when the need next arises!”, Investment Director, Synova Capital.

The results

A new CTO started in post only 8 weeks after initial engagement. A triumph of clear and transparent process.
